Elmer E. Keranen

Elmer E. Keranen, 62, Brainerd, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 19, 1939, to Henry and Hilda (Hillukka) Keranen. He married Hannah Matson-Lee on Oct. 11, 1986, in Brainerd. He was a member of Laestadian Lutheran Church. He was employed as a mechanic at Crow Wing Power.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jonathan E. Keranen, Brainerd; a daughter, Jessica L. Keranen, Brainerd; three stepsons, Samuel P. Lee, Buffalo, Stephen J. Lee, Crystal, Joshua E. Lee, Buffalo; two stepdaughters, Mary H. Clement, England; Juliann M. Lee, Florida; six grandchildren; his mother, Wolf Lake; five brothers, Harold Keranen, Robert Keranen, Arnold Keranen, Glenn Keranen, Randy Keranen; seven sisters, Edna Mae Felak, Mary Ann Haverinen, Arlene Arvola, Helen Rath, Jeanne Huhta, Carol Waariniemi, Annette Kilpola.

His father; an infant son; and stepchildren, Matthew J. Lee and Rachel M. Lee, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Laestadian Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Quentin Ruonavaara officiating and at 3 p.m. Friday at the Wolf Lake Laestadian Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake with Reuben Alajoki officiating. Burial will be in Balmi Cemetery in Wolf Lake.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday with prayers at 6:30 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with Howard Parks officiating and from 2:30 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the church.
