Ring one of 10 finalists for Mr. Football

Brainerd Warriors running back and linebacker Colby Ring is one of 10 finalists for the Minnesota Mr. Football Award.

Other finalists are Blaine quarterback James Peterson, Northfield linebacker Cole Jirik, Edina quarterback Anders Lee, Pelican Rapids quarterback Tydan Storrusten, Becker running back Jake Gibbons, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City running back Kurtis Huisman, Owatonna offensive tackle Casey Dehn, Orono linebacker Brett Skoog and Apple Valley defensive back Varmah Sonie.

The winner will be announced at the Mr. Football banquet Dec. 13 at the Doubletree Hotel in St. Louis Park.

Girls' basketball jamboree Saturday at Forestview

The 14th annual Central Lakes Conference girls' basketball jamboree is scheduled Saturday at Forestview Middle School in Baxter.

Six conference teams will participate, along with Crosby-Ironton and St. Cloud Cathedral.

Teams will scrimmage from 9 a.m. to noon followed by the jamboree in the afternoon.
