PALISADE -- Robert B. Lamson, 53, Palisade, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1949, in Aitkin to Oliver and Ruby (Sanford) Lamson. He attended schools in Palisade and Aitkin, graduating from Aitkin High School. He moved to Indiana and worked in the steel mills for a time. He returned to Palisade and farmed. He moved to Wyoming and studied to be an agriculture specialist and worked for the Cenex Cooperative in that capacity. He moved to Detroit Lakes in 1977. He married Elizabeth T. Kohler on Oct. 19, 1979, in Detroit Lakes. He worked as a professional truck driver since 1978. He worked for Gabor Trucking from 1978 to 1987, for Hammond Transport from 1987-1989 and for Halvor Lines from 1989 until the present. He had received numerous citations and awards for safety in his years of driving. He and his wife moved back to Palisade in 1985. He served as a Scoutmaster while in Detroit Lakes.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Broderick J. Lamson, Palisade; a daughter, Krishna Lamson, Aurora, Colo.; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Becky Stark, Tempe, Ariz., Lydia Berg, Palisade, and Lori Matz, Zimmerman; two brothers, Sheldon Lamson, Sparta, Wis., and William Lamson, Lemore, Calif.; and four stepchildren, Jerome Jirava III, Palisade, Joleen Tveit, Palisade, Jason Jirava, Audubon, and Jennifer Jirava, Brainerd.
His parents; a brother, Henry; and two daughters, Patty Anne and Bobby Sue, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin with Father Paul Fruth officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery near Palisade.
Friends may call an hour before services Friday at the church.
