Henritta 'Joyce' Joerger

PALISADE -- Henritta "Joyce" Joerger, 65, Palisade, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at home.

She was born July 24, 1937, in Detroit to John and Lydia Devor. She married Harold Joerger on April 14, 1956, in Detroit. They lived in South Dakota then moved to Minnesota where they farmed in Waukenabo Township. She was a member of the Aitkin VFW Auxiliary and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Deerwood.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Henritta Berg, Mary Handt, Brenda Lehman and Suzann Everson; five sons, John, James, John Bray, Joseph and Joshua; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Harry Devor, Marty Devor and Kenny Devor; and three sisters, Carol Tipinski, Margie McDonald and Juanita Jackson.

Her parents and two brothers, John and Dick Devor, died earlier.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Deerwood with Father Howard Eisel officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Aitkin.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. today at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
