Workshop on erosion planned

Interested Crow Wing County public officials and citizens are invited to attend a workshop by Jay Michels of the Minnesota Erosion Control Association to learn about Project NEMO (nonpoint education for municipal officials), which provides tools to address erosion control and stormwater management in Crow Wing County.

The workshop is 3-5 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Brainerd Public Library.

The event is co-sponsored by the Crow Wing County Water Plan and Crow Wing County Soil and Water Conservation District.

NEMO is an educational program for land use decision makers that addresses the relationship between land use and natural resource protection. The basic NEMO educational presentation -- Linking Land Use to Water Quality -- explains the links between land use, water quality, and community character.

For more information or questions about this workshop, call Crow Wing SWCD at (218) 828-6197, or Crow Wing County Water Plan Coordinator Bonnie Finnerty at (218) 824-1106.
