Bates helps Bemidji State in win

Brainerd High School graduate Megan Bates, a freshman forward for the Bemidji State University Beavers, sank two free throws with 17 second remaining Saturday to help BSU to a 62-60 women's basketball victory over Metro State.
Bates finished with six points, seven rebounds and one assist in 30 minutes.
The victory was the Beavers' first of the season.
Tesdahl tallies eight in Beaver loss
Crosby-Ironton graduate Bryce Tesdahl, a guard for the Bemidji State University men's basketball team, scored eight points and dished out three assists in the Beavers' 73-60 men's basketball loss to North Dakota Saturday.
Former Brainerd High School player Zach Eastman had two rebounds and five points in 17 minutes for the Beavers.
