REMER -- Remer School recently invited Emily Charter School students to participate in School Forest Day, a day of learning about the outdoors.
Students learned about electrical safety, boat and water safety, beekeeping, apple pressing, bird banding, birch bark harvesting pottery, wild ricing, decoy carving, bow hunting, primitive archery-making, deer trapping, telemetry, fire prevention, fish identification, wolf control, recycling, compass usage, logging, bear habitat identification, horse drawn logging, taxidermy and more.
They also participated in a scavenger hunt and heard stories about fur trading.
