NISSWA -- Theodore H. "Ted" Schaefer II, 83, Nisswa, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center.
He was born Nov. 24, 1916, in Brainerd to Theodore Henry and Hilda Marie (Dullum) Schaefer. He married Bettie Jane Paine on Sept. 14, 1938, in Brainerd. He was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa and served on the church finance committee. He also was the vice president of the Brainerd Chamber of Commerce, served as a trustee on the First National Bank board of directors and was a member and a past president of the Minnesota Walking Horse Association. He was a member of the Lion's Club, Elk's Club and the American Legion Club.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie; four daughters, Ann Marie Beaver, Plymouth, Helen Jean Knutson, Arlington, Wash., and Mary Jane Olson and Kathleen Rose Murphy, both of Brainerd; two sons, Theodore H. Schaefer III, Nisswa, and Thomas Schaefer, Burnsville; and two brothers, John Schaefer, Nisswa, and Robert Schaefer, Brainerd.
Two sisters, Jean Marchel and Betty Schaefer, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa with Father George Zeck officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nelson- Doran Funeral Home, and an hour before services Monday at the church.
Memorials are preferred to the St. Francis School Endowment Fund.
