20 years ago (1988)

In four weeks the Brainerd lakes area will have the Brainerd International Race of Champions for the first time. A lot of details go into an international snowmobile race, and it takes a lot of hard work and financial support.

30 years ago (1978)

The Brainerd Community College Choir will present its annual boars' head dinner concert at the Holiday Inn next month. The annual event will feature "Scrooge."

40 years ago (1968)

Some homes in northwest Brainerd are getting higher elevations these days as streets are cut through the area. The overall project, paid for in part with federal funds, is designed to open some streets and install water and sewer mains.

60 years ago (1948)

Turkey prices this Thanksgiving week have been nearly 20 percent higher than last year - but they do not seem to have scared many housewives out of the market. In fact there may be a shortage for Christmas.

80 years ago (1928)

¥ On Thanksgiving Day Archer's will serve a delicious turkey dinner at $1 per plate. For reservations call 620.

¥ Sunday will start the special "Thanksgiving Week" programs at the Lyceum.

100 years ago (1908)
