CASS LAKE - Eugene Richardson, 73, of Cass Lake, suffered a serious but non-life threatening injury when the vehicle he was driving ran off the road a mile south of Cass Lake and struck a tree, the State Patrol reported.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - One of Minnesota's largest car dealers is closing six dealerships and selling three others effective immediately.

Several volunteer bell ringers are needed for the goal to be met during the holiday season. A chance for health care success
WASHINGTON - Things are looking up for substantive reform of America's troubled health care system.
In response to the person who wants the stakes removed from Baxter yards, first of all, at no point should anyone be going fast enough to be sliding into people's yards to hit these stakes. I don't want you anywhere near my home. Secondly, I don't see the city of Baxter out in my neighborhood repairing the two- to three-foot areas of grass missing every year in the front of my house. If we shouldn't worry about it, we won't worry about mowing it either. I'm sure you'll be the first to have an issue with that, too.
When it comes to firearms deer hunting in Minnesota, nothing is sacred, it seems.
A girls' world
A new DNR rule allowing hunters as young as 10 to hunt with an adult - and take a deer - came under some fire before the opening of the state firearms season. But the early returns, at least in this area, have been positive.
