FORT RIPLEY -- Dorothy Emma Kohl, age 80, resident of Fort Ripley, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at her home. Dorothy was born July 30, 1924, in Paynesville, Minn., to Gustav and Emma (Klepel) Rohloff. She married Harry W. Kohl June 25, 1941. Harry died in 2001.

Survivors include two sons, Duane (Sharon) Kohl, of Fort Ripley, and Allan (Nancy) Kohl, of Fort Ripley; one daughter, Diane (Gregg) Johnson, of Fort Ripley; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; five brothers, William Rohloff, of Onamia, Joseph Rohloff, of Baxter, Rueben Rohloff, of Baxter, James Rohloff, of Oklahoma, and Frank Rohloff, of Alaska; three sisters, June Gorron, of Brainerd, Idella Hele, of Seattle, and Frieda Kohl, of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry, brothers, Arnold and Leo, and sister, Beatrice.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with Pastor Harvey Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
