GARRISON -- Burton F. Dahlquist, age 66, of Garrison, died on Friday, Nov. 21, 2002, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1936, in Eveleth, Minn., to Floyd and Irene Dahlquist. He married Elaine Thulin on Nov. 19, 1955, in Mason City, Iowa. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in St. Paul Class of 1954, valedictorian graduate and four-year letterman in hockey at Hamline University class of 1958, lifelong dedication to the sport of hockey as a coach and founder of the Fridley Hockey Association. Retired Control Data executive with 17 years of service. Retiring to the Deerwood area in 1991. Former owner and operator of Coach's Corner Pub in Deerwood. A member of Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood and Cuyuna Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Dahlquist of Garrison, Tim and Cathy Dahlquist of Coon Rapids, Chris and Jeanie Dahlquist of Eden Prairie; his mother, Irene Dahlquist of St. Paul; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Jan Dahlquist of Chanhassen; six grandchildren; He is proceeded in death by his father. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood with Rev. David N. Anderson and Greg Meyer, AiM, officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 2-6 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
