A place in Little Falls sports history awaits the Flyers' 200-yard freestyle relay.
Regardless of what happens at the Class 1A state swimming and diving meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, the foursome of Whitney Weisz, Megan Voss, Brittany Then and Molly Binger has secured its standing in Flyers lore.
Together since last year's Section 6-1A meet, the group broke the school record with its second-place 1:40.30 at this year's section meet.
This will be the second state meet for this group and the third straight in which Little Falls will swim in the 200 free relay.

Last year the Flyers placed eighth at 1:42.05. In 2006, the Flyers' 200 free relay placed fourth.
Despite finishing second behind Sartell at sections, the Flyers are the second seed entering Friday's state prelims and will swim in lane 4 of heat two.
"I knew we would be top three or four, but I wasn't expecting to see us at No. 2," said Flyers coach Tim Corbett. "That's going to be fun. We have no idea what other teams have been doing, whether they tapered for sections or not.
"It's going to be a fun race because the 200 freestyle relay is an exciting race anyway. There is going to be a huge pack of teams battling for first."

Also returning to state is the Flyers' 400 free relay. Last year Then, Melissa Kempenich, Weisz and Binger placed 15th with a 3:49.45.
Carlee Davich moved into the graduated Kempenich's spot and helped the Flyers to a second-place 3:44.51 at sections. That has the Flyers seeded 11th for the state prelims. They will swim in lane 6 of the second heat.
"We broke our best time of the year, which was a 3:50.09, with a 3:44 at sections," Corbett said. "My goal was to break 3:45 and we did. If all goes well I'd like to see us beat that. Our goal will be to try and get top eight."
Binger returns to swim the 100 freestyle and also will compete in the 200 freestyle. Her top competition in both events should be Weisz.
"They have taken turns going back and fourth in the 100 and 200 all season," said Corbett. "We're looking for both to have good races, to be competitive and swim strong. They both are fast. Which one will be faster we'll have to wait and see."
Last year Binger swam a 12th-place 55.17 in the 100 free. She swam a 54.69 in this year's section meet. Weisz won the section with her 54.29. The two will swim in the same heat next to each other Friday.
Weisz is the fourth-seeded 200 free swimmer and will be in lane 5 of the fourth heat. Binger will swim in lane 2 of heat four.
"It's going to be exciting to have swimmers in four events throughout the meet," said Corbett. "The 100 will be fun to have Whitney and Molly in the same heat. It should be a fun state meet."
