The Heartland Symphony Orchestra's 2003 Young Composers Competition deadline is Feb. 1, 2003.
The purpose of this competition is to provide young Minnesota composers with the opportunity to have their work rehearsed and performed by the Heartland Symphony Orchestra, an orchestra with more than 50 musicians.
The competition is open to composers of orchestral music who are residents of Minnesota and have not yet reached their 23rd birthday by April 1, 2003. The winning score will be premiered by the Heartland Symphony Orchestra at its spring concerts -- April 24 in Aitkin, April 26 in Brainerd and April 27 in Little Falls. The winner of the Young Composers Competition will receive a $300 scholarship.
