Dorothy E. Morley, 95, Brainerd, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. She was born Oct. 4, 1914, in the village of Crow Wing to Rick and Etta Hodge. She lived there until her family moved to Brainerd when Dorothy was in fourth grade. She attended Lincoln Grade School then Washington High School graduating in 1932. In the fall of 1932 she went to Minneapolis to attend Parisian School of Beauty, graduating in 1933. She returned to Brainerd and worked there for 50 years plus as a beautician. She also volunteered at Crow Wing County Museum, served in Brainerd's Memorial Committee and served as secretary and treasurer on All Veterans Memorial Committee.

At one time she had camp fire girls at Harrison School and had teenage girls group at American Legion Auxiliary. She was president of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 255 from 1956- 1957. She served as Chaplain for some years. She married Charles W. Morley on Oct. 27, 1935.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and member of Deborah Circle.
She is survived by her grandsons, Michael (Kris) Morley and Bruce Morley. She also has grandchildren in the state of Washington, Craig Ellingson, James Manderson, Derek (Jessica) Manderson and Dianna Thompson. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews in the Farmington/Minneapolis area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles W.; a son, Charles R.; and a daughter, Colleen Scott; brother, Bertie; and sister, Hattie Elder.
Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Brainerd with Pastor George Buchin officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Brainerd. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
