Leeta Caldwell
PEQUOT LAKES - Leeta K. Caldwell, 99, of Pequot Lakes, Minn., died Nov. 19, 2008, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Home in Pine River, Minn. Private family services will be held. Memorials preferred.
Leeta was born Nov. 13, 1909, in Kankakee, Ill., the daughter of Leslie and Marie (Sammons) Kent. She was united in marriage to William "Bud" Caldwell in Minneapolis/St. Paul area in 1929. Leeta worked for a number of years for Crop Quality Council until her retirement. The couple moved to Pequot Lakes, Minn., where they spent the summer months while they wintered in Yuma, Ariz. Leeta enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and playing cards. She liked spending time with her friends.
Leeta will be missed by her grandchildren, Steven Jones, of Chicago, Cathy Kemper, of Mesa, Ariz., Lesli Rynes, of Maple Grove, Minn., and Pamela Miller, of Yuma, Ariz.; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Caldwell; her daughter, Gayle Jones; great-grandson, Jason Rynes; and three sisters.
