Jack and Diane's lasagna dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the VFW. The Auxiliary will have a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
74th annual duck feed
Mike Neubart, state American Legion commander from Redwood Falls, was the main speaker at the 74th annual duck feed dinner at American Legion Post No. 255 recently. Brainerd Legion commander DeWayne Collins opened the program and welcomed the guests. Master of ceremonies Terry Nelson introduced the head table and out of town guest. Chaplain L. Michelle Counts gave the opening and closing prayers. Dan Bednarek, Sgt. At Arms, conducted the POW/MIA service. Mayor James Wallin provided a welcome from the city of Brainerd. Other Legion and Auxiliary dignitaries taking part in the program were National Executive Committee member Robert Skallerud, sixth district commander Rich Janssen, sixth district vice commander Harold Bergstrom, sixth district SAL commander Geoffrey Bible, past national SAL commander Doug Bible, sixth district president Lu Ann Marschel, Unit 255 Auxiliary president Arleen Elliott. Entertainment was provided by "The Crystalites," Bev, Kristil, Barb and Ruth. Music was provided by Kathleen Zelinske. The dinner was prepared under the direction of Jerry and Becky Young and served by the women of the Auxiliary. Jay Beebe was chairman of the event.
