Corn harvest nearly complete in state

Posted: Wednesday, November 20, 2002

Minnesota's corn harvest is almost complete, according to the Minnesota Agricultural Statistics Service.

Some producers were waiting for the ground to freeze in the central part of the state in order to finish harvest, the crop report released Monday showed.

Snow has hampered producers from getting in the field in the northwestern counties. While in the southern part of the state, harvest was nearly finished; tillage and fall application of anhydrous ammonia were winding down.
