Jennifer Beilke of Brainerd has been selected the Central Lakes Conference girls' soccer player of the year by CLC coaches.
Beilke also was named the Warriors' most valuable player and was an all-conference selection, along with teammates Beth Sexton, Dani Uphoff, Taylor Hartje and Ally Hartje.
Scholar all-conference Warriors were Sarah Gervais, Beilke, Joyce Hendricks and Taylor and Ally Hartje.
Receiving all-conference honorable mention were Hendricks, Melissa Hanson and Gervais.
2005 captains are Melissa Hanson, Emily Lorenz and Beth Sexton.
Baxter to offer pond hockey
The Baxter Parks and Recreation Department will offer pond hockey for boys and girls this winter.
Coaches will teach basic skills and techniques. Participants will practice and play games outside one night a week (in Baxter) and Saturday mornings at Baxter or Nisswa rinks. The season will begin when outdoor ice is ready.
A parent/player meeting is scheduled 10 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Loren Thompson Park rink.
Ice pups: Ages 7-10, must be 7 by Dec. 31, 2004. Fee $45.
Ice dogs: Ages 11-15, must be 11 by Dec. 31, 2004. Fee $45.
