The city of Pequot Lakes has been without its emergency siren for the past three weeks, Fire Chief Tom Nelson said.
"Somebody heard it go off at noon (about three weeks ago), and they said it sounded funny," Nelson said. "It hasn't gone off since."
Nelson said the city will fix or replace the emergency siren before next spring and the start of the 2005 tornado season.
The siren, on the city's fishing bobber water tower, is the only emergency siren in Pequot Lakes. - Matt Erickson, staff writer.
