We would like you to meet Andy.
Andy is a somewhat shy 12-year-old boy who loves riding BMX and has a huge passion for drawing abstract art. Andy's Dad had not been in the picture for quite a while and he needs a male role model.
Andy lives with his mom, older sister and younger brother in the Crosby area. Andy is new to Crosby and needs to get out and do some guy stuff. Andy's interests are football, bike riding, hunting and four-wheeling. Andy would do great with a man who loves to be outdoors and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty.
At Kinship Partners, our dream is to see the waiting list dwindle to nothing. As of today, we have more than 50 kids who need another adult in their lives - someone to hang out with, talk with and trust.
We know there are many people who read this article and say to themselves, "I would love to help out, but I don't have enough time to have a Kinship Partner." We urge you to look at your schedule again. A few hours a week makes an unbelievable difference in the life of a child on our waiting list.
You don't have to carve out time like you may think. If you're a gardener, there are children who would love the opportunity to learn right along with you. If you love to watch old movies, you could share that love with a child.
Any activity or interest is something you could share with a Kinship kid. So if you've been putting off calling Kinship Partners to find out more about how our program works, make that call today and take the first step toward becoming a mentor. Call 829-4606 or toll free at (877) 730-5437 or check out our Web site at www.kinshippartners.org.
