The Brainerd Fire Department was called at 1:28 p.m. Monday to a residence on the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue Northeast to investigate a smell. Nothing was found.

False alarm

The Brainerd Fire Department at 1:21 p.m. Monday was called to Carefree Living, 2723 Oak St., for what turned out to be a false alarm.

Chimney fire

The Brainerd Fire Department at 11:40 p.m. Monday responded to a report of a chimney fire at a residence on the 2000 block of Thorson Road. The fire was out when firefighters arrived.
