Brainerd firefighter Fred Eiesland held a flashlight Monday while another firefighter tried to gain access to a downstairs apartment on the 1600 block of Oak Street to battle an electrical fire. The fire, reported at 6:22 p.m., caused about $1,500 in damage, according to the fire department. No injuries were reported and firefighters were able to save a cat from the apartment.
