Mary Ann Overocker

BAXTER - Mary Ann Overocker, age 59, of Baxter, died in Cass County.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1946, in St. Paul. Her adopted parents were Terrence Hayes and Adella Schmidt. She attended Our Lady of Peace grade school and graduated from Derham-Hall High School in St. Paul. She worked for Univac, Minn., Wildlife Heritage and Minnesota Conservation Foundation and the St. Thomas College Alumni Office. She was president of the Lakes Area Singles Club, a former member of the Garrison VFW Auxiliary, the Eagles Aeries of Brainerd and St. James Church.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Teri and Damon Reynolds, of Deerwood, and Tracy and Randy Kuchenmiester, of Stacy; sons, Brad, and friend, Stephanie, of Eagan, and Thad, and friend, Jeanne, of St. Paul; her special friend, Kent Clark; and her former husband, Jim Overocker; grandchildren, Dylan, T.J. and Ali Overocker, Lauren and Morgan Kuchenmiester, Jordaan, Dominic and Carter Reynolds and Jordan Vruno; a brother, the Rev. Father Terry Hayes, of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Stacy; and her biological mother, Arlene.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday at St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin with Father Paul Fruth and Father Terry Hayes officiating. Interment will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
