The Women of the Moose recently presented a "Winter's Wonderland" fashion show at the Moose Lodge.
Hostesses were Delores Bahr, Sharon Crawford and chair Joan Novak. Chairing the food committee were Vivian Kope and Dee Severson, with appetizers and lunch served.
The models, members of the Women of the Moose and Moose Lodge, wearing fashions from Herberger's included Max Bunnell, Marcy Cunningham, Pat Haberman, O.J. Hanson, Shirley Hanson, Lezlee Karpinski, Pam Miller, Connie Murray, Dee Severson, Collette Wagner, Dan Watson, Pat Watson and Dolly Zitur.
Sr. Regent Linda Anderson greeted guests and introduced commentators Arleen Elliott and Sharon Osborne. The escorts were past governors of Brainerd Moose Lodge #1246, Lee Miller and Bob Osborne.
Entertainment for the event was by the Geritol Frolics Octet, Betty Alderman, Judy Blocker, Nancy Hall, Jean London, Mike Edmunds, Paul Vrudny, Jerry Wahlstrom and Ed Yunker, with pianist Lynn Olson. Jillian Rinde and Jade Haberg, young dancers from the Heartland Performing Arts in Ironton, performed a jazz and tap number.
Guests received prizes from drawings held throughout the fashion show furnished by area businesses. Collette Wagner served as donations chair. The grand prize from the Grand Casino was drawn and presented to Rachel Polson.
Last year's fashion show enabled the Women of the Moose to present a $350 scholarship to Tara Bartel, who is continuing her education at the St. Cloud Vo Tech pursuing a dental hygienist career; and $300 to Rachel Rouse from Brainerd High School. Also, $275 was added to the Women of the Moose CLC Sue Kidd Scholarship fund.
