LITTLE FALLS -- Elmer Kray, 77 year old resident of Little Falls, Minn., died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, Minn. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Little Falls, Minn., with the Rev. Keith Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Royalton, Minn. Friends may gather from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the church. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post No. 1112 of Little Falls, Minn., and American Legion Post No. 137 of Royalton, Minn.
Elmer was born June 21, 1926, in Royalton, Minn., to Benjamin and Mabel (Sauer) Kray. He enlisted in the United States Army on Jan. 20, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minn. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 21, 1947, at Lowry Field, Colo. He was united in marriage to Anne Swenson on Feb. 23, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minn. The couple made their home in Minneapolis, Minn., from 1957-1959. The couple moved to Royalton, Minn., in 1959 where they currently lived at the time of his death. He worked as a merchant marine in Duluth, Minn., for 10 years. He worked as a boiler operator at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, Minn., for 37 years. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Little Falls, Minn., where he enjoyed praising the Lord. He enjoyed walking, painting houses, playing cribbage, fishing and listening to Duane Lemmerman playing the accordion.
He is survived by his wife, Anne of Royalton, Minn.; sons, Mark Kray and wife Marge, of St. Cloud, Minn., Steven Kray of Rice, Minn., and ex-wife, Sue Kray of Rice, Minn., Michael Kray of Brainerd, Minn., and fiancee, Amy Boelter of Brainerd, Minn., and ex-wife, Michelle Miller of Randall, Minn., and Patrick Kray of Brainerd, Minn.; daughters Kathryn Muller and husband, Randy, of Royalton, Minn., Sandra Coe of Brainerd, Minn.; brother, George Kray and wife LaMae of St. Louis Park, Minn.; and 12 grandchildren. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronald Kray and Herb Kray. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Assembly of God Church in Little Falls, Minn.
Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, Minn.
