PALISADE -- Henry "Hank" Weimer, 80, Palisade, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at home of cancer.
He was born June 5, 1922, in Bird Island to Christopher and Catherine (Lang) Weimer. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II. He married Mildred Tasa on Jan. 9, 1949. They lived in Aitkin where he worked for Froehle Turkey Farms. They moved to Waukenabo Township. He worked as a forklift operator for 29 years at Woodland Container, retiring in 1984. After his retirement, he began helping Steve and Carol Reinhardt with their farming operations.
Survivors include five sons, Harley, Curt, Dan, Gene and Pat, all of the Palisade area; two daughters, Rose Petrick and Cathy Geving, both of the Palisade area; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, John, Palisade, Ray, Aitkin, Frank, Minneapolis, and Richard, Wisconsin; and five sisters, Marie Clark of California, Margaret Nollette, Lorraine Mindrum, Palisade, and Ella Kingsley and Francie Berg, Hill City.
His wife and five brothers, infant Albert, Vernon, Frederick "Fritz," Charlie and Marty, died earlier.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin with the Rev. Charles Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Waukenabo Cemetery with military honors provided by Aitkin and Palisade VFW and the Aitkin American Legion.
Friends may call an hour before services today at the funeral home.
