NISSWA - Nisswa will celebrate the City of Lights Friday.
Events will include horse-drawn hay wagon rides at the Nisswa Square from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Santa will be in the Nisswa Square from 2:40-4:30 p.m. and Mrs. Claus will be at Motor City from 3-8 p.m. Rainy Days Books will present storytelling from 4-4:30 p.m. The Nisswa Lions will serve pork on-a-stick and the bonfires will be lit at 4:30 p.m. Rachel's Bakery will present a cake walk from 4:30-5 p.m. and music, hot cider and doughnut holes will be offered by the Black Bear 4-H at Pioneer Village beginning at 4:45 p.m. Carolers will perform in the gazebo and around town from 5-5:30 p.m. Lighting of the luminaries will begin at 5:15 p.m. with the countdown to the lighting ceremony at 5:29 p.m.
The Love Lights A Tree ceremony will be presented at 5:45 p.m. by Pastor John Just, Timberwood Church, and Pastor Steve James, Living Saviour Church. Donations of $5 or more will light one light in memory or in honor of a loved one. All donations will be presented to Good Samaritan Society Hospice.
Santa arrives at the gazebo in Nisswa at 6 p.m. Fireworks will follow.
