LF's Weisz going to state in four events

SARTELL - Whitney Weisz of Little Falls qualified for state in four events following her performance in the Section 6-1A meet Saturday at Sartell High School.

She won the 50 freestyle in 24.38 and broke her section record in the 100 free with a time of 52.64.

Weisz also anchored the 200 free relay, that included Megan Voss, Macy Olson and Brittany Then, to a runner-up time of 1:42.13.

She later anchored the 400 free relay to a state-qualifying and fourth-place time of 3:48.41. Voss, Marissa Deml and Stephanie Stumpf were the Flyers' other participants.

Eighth-grader Jaelin Beachy of Staples-Motley/Verndale/Wadena-Deer Creek qualified for state by time standard with a third-place clocking of 1:11.57 in the 100 breaststroke.

Macy Olson of Little Falls just missed advancing in the 100 breaststroke, falling 1/100th of a second short.

Voss missed qualifying by time standard in the 100 backstroke, falling short of the cut by 53/100ths of a second.

Little Falls finished third behind champion Sartell. S-M/V/W-DC placed 11th.

The top two individuals, the top two relays and the top four divers advance along with any time standard qualifiers.
