Donald R. Sprau
MERRIFIELD - Donald R. Sprau, 63, Merrifield, passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at his home in Merrifield.
He was born in Mason City, Iowa, on Aug. 20, 1945, to Warren and Margie (Jensen) Sprau. He married Diane Baumer on Aug. 16, 1980, in East Gull Lake. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fisherman, beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, Merrifield; his sons, David (Angela), Pequot Lakes, Daniel, Pequot Lakes, Donnie, Nebraska, Raymie (Julie), Nebraska; and his grandchildren, Dawson, Savannah, Shai, Kimberly, Natalie, Donnie Jr. and Dana. He is also survived by his brother, Robert, Nebraska; and his sister, Sharon, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Alvin.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. at the Half Moon Saloon in Merrifield.
