STAPLES -- The Staples Festival of Trees will run Friday through Monday at First Integrity Bank Annex, Fourth Street Northeast, Staples.
Last year, various groups, organizations and businesses decorated 39 Christmas trees using different themes that depicted businesses' and organizations' or individual tastes.
Those wishing to join the Festival of Trees display may contact Darla Peterson at 894-1522 to register their tree (bring your own tree and decorations). The Annex will be open before the Festival of Trees to allow for set-up times.
The festival display will run 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
Refreshments will be available, sponsored by the Staples '93 Lions Club.
Those signed up to sponsor a tree include: A1 4-H Club, Dreamsickle, Money Bags Investment Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Minnesota Vikings' Tree, Congregational Church, New Horizons Club, First Avenue Salon, TOPS, Staples '93 Lions, Windmill Floral and Gifts, Cece Crafts, Sacred Heart School, Staples World, Staples "Wolf" Scouts, First Integrity Financial Services, Helling's Super Valu, Faith Lutheran Church, Staples Precision Metalcraft, Beinhorn and Co., Ltd., Central Lakes College, Hospital Auxiliary, KLKS Radio, Coca Cola Tree, Procrastinator Tree, Bosom Buddies, First Integrity Bank, Opera House Antiques, Coast True Value, Staples Rotary and Art and Soul.
Those attending the Festival of Trees will be able to vote for their favorite tree. Chips will be distributed at the door and can be placed in the box of the tree of your choice. Chips will be collected at the end of the Festival of Trees and counted and the favorite tree winners will be announced.
A freewill donation will be collected at the door.
