Photographer-writer John Erickson will speak to the Writers Alliance of Brainerd at 10 a.m. Saturday in the large meeting room at the Brainerd Public Library.

The topic of his program will be "On Putting Together a Picture Book." Erickson recently published "Impressions," a book in which his photography is paired with the poetry of Roger Cooper, Emily.

The Brainerd Area Art Club will host an Authors and Artists Reception Fall Expos from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Crossing Fine Arts Center, 617 Laurel St., Brainerd.

Lakes Area Senior Singers will present their Christmas concert, "Jesus The Light," at 3 p.m. Dec. 8 at First Presbyterian Church of Brainerd.

A freewill offering for charity will be taken.
