Midseason auditions for the Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota will be held 6:30 to 10 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lord of Life Church in Baxter.
Sarah Aamot-Lundin, chorale artistic director, seeks singers of all voice parts, particularly tenor and bass, from any community in Minnesota.
Aamot-Lundin will listen for the following musical skills during auditions: intonation, tone quality (choral sound vs. solo), ability to control vibrato, vocal flexibility and expressiveness. A prepared piece is not necessary.
Rehearsals for the spring program will be 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Jan. 20 at Lord of Life Church in Baxter.
Spring concerts are tentatively scheduled April 16-18 at locations to be determined.

Seldom heard masterpiece to be performed in Staples
STAPLES -- Antonio Vivaldi's masterpiece "Dixit Dominus," a unique work for both double chorus and double orchestra, will be performed 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Centennial Auditorium in Staples.
The music, considered one of Vivaldi's most important works for the church, although rarely performed, will be a collaboration between the Staples Area Men's and Women's Choruses, the Staples-Motley High School A Cappella Choir and High School Orchestra and community instrumentalists.
