BUCKMAN -- John Baptist Gall, 83, Buckman, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls.
He was born May 15, 1918, in Buckman to Andrew and Anne (Gunn) Gall. He married Christine Otremba on Sept. 11, 1940. He farmed and did carpentry work. He semi-retired in 1976. He was a supporter of the TEC program. He was a member of Pierz Knights of Columbus, St. Michael's Society, Crosier Apostolate and a lifelong member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; nine sons, Jerry Gall, Foley, and Marvin, Dennis, Alvin, Donnie, Leon, David, Marne and Gordie Gall, all of Pierz; four daughters, Doris Hilfer, Little Falls, Diane Thommes, North Pole, Alaska, Jeanne Thommes, Royalton, and Yvonne Herold, Prior Lake; 47 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; four brothers, Father Sylvester Gall, Sartell, Mathew Gall, Milwaukee, Ewald Gall, Pierz, and Carl Gall, Milwaukee; and four sisters, Marie Baron, Royalton, Clara Gall, Los Angeles, Roslin Gall, Hastings, and Matilda Gall, Minneapolis.
A son, Ralph Gall; a great-grandchild; five brothers, Wendlen, Joseph, Urban, Edward and Andrew Gall; and two sisters, Anna and Zeta Gall, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery in Buckman.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz with Christian Mothers praying the rosary at 4:30 p.m., parish prayers at 7 p.m., St. Michael's Society at 8 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 8:30 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
