The annual Brainerd Lakes Area Ski Swap is scheduled Nov. 21 in the Brainerd High School cafeteria.

Equipment registration will be from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Doors will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event is sponsored by the Brainerd Nordic Ski Club. It's the perfect place to upgrade or replace winter sports equipment, ranging from cross country and downhill skis, snowboards and figure/hockey skates to car top carriers.

YMCA men's basketball league

The Brainerd Family YMCA is still accepting registrations for its men's basketball league.

League play begins Nov. 23. Officiated games will be played on Monday and/or Wednesday nights.

High school intramural basketball

Brainerd Family YMCA and Brainerd Community Education are sponsoring an intramural basketball league for boys in grades 9-12 for Brainerd and surrounding school districts.

Games will be played on Sundays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the YMCA gym. League play begins Nov. 22 and runs for eight weeks, including playoffs.

All games will be officiated. Cost is $45 per participant and includes a T-shirt.

Registration forms are available on the YMCA Web site or may be picked up in the Brainerd High School Activities Office, the South Campus main office and at the YMCA. Sign up as an individual or as a team.

Russell to speak to boosters club

Central Lakes College men's basketball coach Jim Russell will be the speaker at the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club meeting, which begins at noon Thursday at the Moose Lodge.

Aaron Pavek is the Warriors Athlete of the Week.
