Accident victims' conditions upgraded

EAST GULL LAKE - Conditions improved for two Brainerd area residents, who were injured Monday in a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Cass County Road 77, just east of Madden's Resort in East Gull Lake.

Norma J. Nelson, 58, who was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital, was in good condition Wednesday.

Larry Zarling, 57, rural Brainerd, who was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, has since been released.

It was reported that the Chevrolet Blazer Nelson was driving, was traveling west on County Road 77 when she lost control of the vehicle on black ice, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into Zarling's Ford Ranger.
