EAGAN, Minn. (AP) -- Northwest Airlines canceled several flights into New York-area airports Monday after an American Airlines plane crashed in Queens.
Spokeswoman Mary Beth Schubert said Northwest -- whose main hubs are Minneapolis-St. Paul, Detroit, and Memphis, Tenn. -- canceled its flights into the Kennedy, LaGuardia, Newark and White Plains airports through 1 p.m. CST.
Schubert said some 15 to 20 flights were affected. She also said some Northwest flights en route to New York when the American Airlines plane crashed Monday morning had to be diverted to other airports.
