SWANVILLE -- A 17-year-old Morrison County teen-ager found in a ditch Sunday is in critical condition, authorities reported.
The Todd County Sheriff's Department is still trying to figure out how the teen-ager wound up in the ditch on Highway 28 and Todd County Road 104 south of Swanville.
"He's kind of sketchy right now," Todd County Sheriff David Kircher said about the teen-ager, who suffered severe head wounds. A Todd County investigator is today driving to St. Cloud Hospital, where the teen-ager was taken, for an interview with the 17-year-old.
The teen-ager was found unconscious by a passing motorist about 9:27 a.m. Sunday. At the time, the sheriff's department was asking for public help in identifying the 17-year-old. Kircher said the teen-ager has since woken up but has been unable to provide details of what happened.
The name of the teen is being withheld while the incident is under investigation.
The sheriff's department is asking anyone with information on the incident to call 320-732-2157 or 800-794-5733.
