Brainerd's Horn named to all-conference team

University of Minnesota-Duluth senior Korey Horn of Brainerd has made the NSIC North Division all-conference first team defense as an outside linebacker.

Horn is the Bulldogs' fourth-leading tackler with 24 solos and 18 assists. He has six tackles for losses, one sack, three pass breakups, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.

The defending NCAA Division II national champion Bulldogs (10-1) have a first-round bye in the 24-team tournament. The NSIC champion will host the Saginaw Valley State/Nebraska-Kearney winner in a second-round game Nov. 21.

Pequot Lakes football tickets on sale

Pequot Lakes will take on Mora in the first round of the Class 3A state tournament at 3 p.m. Saturday at Public School Stadium in Duluth.

Tickets are on sale in the activities office through 8 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students.

There will be a pepfest for the team at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the high school gym. The public is welcome.
