Brainerd High School will host its Veterans Day program at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the high school gymnasium. Ray Norrgard, World War II veteran, will be the guest speaker.
All local veterans and general public are invited to attend the program.
Veterans Day program at Pillager School
A Veterans Day program will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pillager School. Speaker will be Mike Mankowski. As part of the program, all veterans from all wars and all branches of the armed forces will be recognized. The program will include involvement from students through essays, music and presentations. The hallways will be used to display student artwork in honor of veterans.
There will be a display case designated for veterans' photos.
Visitors will be seated in chairs on the main floor. All students kindergarten through 12th grade will attend.
Veterans Day program at Riverside
A Veterans Day program will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside Elementary School's big gymnasium in Brainerd. World War II veteran Jim Kunkel will provide music. Steve Rosenow and Don Bode, both Vietnam veterans, will make a presentation about what missing in action means. A story will be read by veteran Lowell Carlson.
And Rose Robison, a foster grandparent at Riverside and an active Brainerd VFW Auxiliary member, has been working on the Riverside Veterans Wall in recognition of family members of Riverside schoolchildren who served in the military.
