STAPLES -- Robert LeeRoy Myers, 65, Staples, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at VA Medical Center in Fargo, N.D.
He was born Aug. 13, 1937, in Gordon, Neb., to Cashius and Alma (Gregg) Myers. He attended school in Gordon. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Laraine Krell on Nov. 25, 1960, in Gordon. They moved to Bullard Township near Staples in 1964 where he farmed and logged. He attended Staples Vocational School for heavy equipment and machine shop. He worked for the DNR as a fire warden for more than 25 years.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Valerie Harguth, Little Falls, Rhonda Myers, New York Mills, and Tracy Borchert, New York Mills; a son, Bryan Myers, Staples; eight grandchildren; a sister, Anita Hartman, Bertha; and a brother, Thomas Myers, Sebeka.
His parents died earlier.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Oylen with the Rev. Neil Malcore officiating. Burial will be in Gordon, Neb.
Friends may call an hour before services today at the church.
