Tickets, fan bus available for Warriors football

Brainerd Warrior football fans may purchase advance tickets for Friday's 8 p.m. game at St. Cloud State University against Centennial in the quarterfinals of the Class 5A state tournament.

Fans are encouraged buy advance tickets to avoid long lines at the stadium.

Tickets will be on sale in the Brainerd High School activities office beginning Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ticket sales will end at noon Friday. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students.

A fan bus will also be chartered. Bus tickets may also be purchased in the activities office for $10. The bus will leave at 6 p.m. Friday from the BHS north lot.

BYAA registration

Brainerd Youth Athletic Association basketball registration, for third and fourth grade girls and boys will be Nov. 16 in the gym at Forestview Middle School gym from 5:30 to 6 p.m.

A free clinic, from 6 to 7:15 p.m., will be put on by the Warrior boys' basketball varsity staff and players. The clinic will include a free T-shirt. Participants should wear gym shoes, shorts and shirt.

The cost for BYAA basketball is $30.

The season will run from Nov. 18 to Jan. 16 with games played Saturday mornings. The first game will be Dec. 5. Practices will be twice a week. Players and parents will receive further information about practice days and times through your coach.

Olejnicak, St. Scholastic win UMAC tournament

DULUTH - The St. Scholastica women's soccer team claimed its third straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament Championship Saturday as they edged Northland College 1-0.

Saints goalkeeper Erin Olejnicak, a sophomore from Brainerd, made three saves.

Olejnicak received honorable mention on the All-UMAC team for the second consecutive year. She led the UMAC in goals-against-average (0.50), save percentage (.875), and shutouts (7). She is 37th and 50th in Division III in GAA and save percentage, respectively.

St. Scholastica, 17-3-2 overall, will make its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance Saturday in St. Paul where it will face Macalester College in the first round.
