INVESTIGATIONS - After Curtis Nebben reported his son had not come out of the woods after hunting in the River Road and Austin Lane area of Wolford Township, emergency personnel from the Crosby Fire Department and the DNR assisted and the Crosby ambulance was paged to be on stand-by. The missing hunter returned to the scene in a vehicle stating he had locked the keys in the truck at the scene and walked home to get another key.

NOVEMBER 9 - 40 years ago (1969) - A Clarissa man is in good condition at St. Joseph's Hospital with a bullet wound in his side following an early morning shooting involving a Brainerd man and his ex-wife at the Al-Mar Motel, north of Brainerd. The shooter turned himself in to the sheriff's office.

Hunter dies near Pillager
A 56 year-old Wyoming, Minn., man, who had shot a deer and was dragging it out the woods, collapsed and died Monday morning near Pillager, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Department.

We would like to clarify some incomplete information concerning the safety of flu shots. The seasonal flu shot has been given to millions of pregnant women over many years. Both the seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccine are FDA rated pregnancy category C meaning they should be given if the benefits outweigh the risks.

WASHINGTON - A couple weeks before Veterans Day, I went down to the World War II Memorial on the Mall to join Bob and Elizabeth Dole and a group of elderly soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen from her hometown of Salisbury, N.C., who had been flown to Washington that morning to get their first view of the nation's tribute to the troops that helped defeat Hitler's forces.
