City marks American Education Week

The American Legion, with the American Legion Auxiliary, and the city of Brainerd will celebrate American Education Week on Nov. 12-18.
The American Legion at 708 Front St. will host a Teachers' Tea at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
In its 79th year, the observance of American Education Week serves to increase public understanding and appreciation of schools.
The 2000 theme is "Children-Teachers-Parents Helping Students Achieve."
Planning panel to meet
The Brainerd Planning Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at city hall.
