THEFT -- Chad Longbella, Staples, Friday reported a 2002 Yamaha Grizzly was stolen.
The attic of a home on Dorothy Avenue, north of North Long Lake, caught fire late Saturday night that resulted in $175,000 in damages, reported the Brainerd Fire Department.
HILL CITY -- A 57-year-old Pine River man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Saturday on Highway 200, seven miles east of Hill City, the State Patrol reported.

Cass County unveils JOBZ signs
The prototype of a new series of road signs promoting Minnesota communities with Job Opportunity Building Zones, known as JOBZ, were unveiled in Cass County.

Deer harvest running behind last year

DEERWOOD -- Robert R. Exsted, age 58, of Deerwood, died on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at his home. He was born in Glencoe on Sept. 23, 1946 to Raymond and Lorraine (Lindemeier) Exsted. He married Ruth Ann Rolf on Oct. 14, 1967, in Glencoe. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam.
SARTELL -- Grace Gorman, age 90, resident of Sartell, formerly of Brainerd, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, in Sartell. Grace was born Feb. 16, 1914, in New Sharon, Iowa to Jacob and Millie (Olthoff) VanHoever. She married Clarence L. Gorman Nov. 18, 1933. They farmed in rural Cushing, Minn., before moving to Brainerd in 1948.
The Minnesota Republican House Caucus was reckless in their approach.
