AITKIN -- Eugene "Bud" Bodeker, 66, Aitkin, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at the Kanabec Hospital in Mora as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
He was born March 6, 1935, in Villard to William and Maybelle (Adolphsen) Bodeker. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1953. He married Colleen "Keenie" Opdahl in 1956. He worked at the Villard Cheese Plant and later the Lowry Creamery as a buttermaker and manager. He served as fire chief for Lowry and was a fireman on the Glenwood Fire Department. He was a member and was currently serving as governor of the Aitkin Moose Lodge No. 1060. He operated the Dairy Queen in Glenwood. He married Angie Banks on March 6, 1976, in Aitkin. He later operated the Dairy Queen in Wabasha. He worked for Larry Krienke and later bought the business and renamed it Bodeker Field Services. He was currently working at AMPI as an HPI specialist and was semi-retired.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Cindy Pedersen, Glenwood, Jill Tuttle, Glenwood, Tammy Banks, New Hope, and Lynn Keith, Elk River; four sons, Dan Bodeker, Lino Lakes, Doug Banks, Aitkin, Mark Banks, Villard, and Steve Banks, Elk River; 11 grandchildren; and three brothers, Marvin, Alexandria, Kerry, Stacy, and Boyd, Glenwood.
His parents died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the West Side Church in Aitkin with the Rev. Dallas Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bennettville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and an hour before services Saturday at the church.
