Area school board election results:
* Pequot Lakes -- Lynn Hunt will join incumbents Brad Wallace and Larry Schultz on the Pequot Lakes School Board.
Hunt, with 1,121 votes; Wallace, with 1,046 votes; and Schultz, with 1,003 votes, were the top three vote-getters.
The other candidates were James Gammello, who had 953 votes; Brett Dale, 863 votes; Bill Hurley, 856 votes; Jim Park, 702 votes; Ronald Engblom, 630 votes; and Denise Zwart, 382 votes.
John Palmer, who has served on the board since 1991, did not run for re-election.
* Pillager -- It was a close, six-way race for the three spots on the Pillager School Boar, but Elbert "Tom" Rhett will join incumbents Robert Marquardt and Thomas Badger on the board.
The unofficial vote totals from Tuesday's elections had Marquardt receiving 226 votes, Badger 219 and Rhett 206 to fill the three open school board spots.
The other incumbent, Elaine R. Lohr, received 140 votes. The other candidates were Danelle Bybee, 194 votes, and Ian Newkirk, 190 votes.
The school board will canvass the results 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pillager School Board Meeting Room.
* Staples Motley -- Incumbents Roy DiGiovanni and Mike Hajek, as well as newcomer Mark Haglin, were elected to the Staples Motley School Board. DiGiovanni received 901 votes, Hajek received 801 and Haglin received 859 votes.
The results are unofficial. The Staples Motley School Board will meet to canvass the returns at 6:30 p.m. today in the Staples Motley High School Media Center.
There were 59 write-in candidates.
