Ironton Legion Auxiliary to host craft, bake sale

IRONTON -- The Myrin James American Legion Auxiliary No. 443 of Ironton will sponsor a craft and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Ironton Legion Club.

Bars, pie and coffee will be offered all day.

A "Sarma Luncheon" will be served starting at 11 a.m. Sloppy joes also will be available.

Proceeds from the bake sale will be used to buy benches for the veterans' section at the cemetery.

C-I senior citizens

to meet Saturday

CROSBY -- The Crosby-Ironton Senior Citizens Club will hold its monthly meeting and potluck at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Cuyuna Range Community Center, Crosby.

Plans will be made for the annual catered Christmas dinner to be held Dec. 8.

Those coming to the Saturday meeting are reminded to bring their own dishes, silver and something to pass. Coffee will be provided. Hosting will be Doris Danielson and Ethel and Elmer Maki.

Bring prizes for games to be played following the meeting and the meal.

All area senior citizens are welcome and invited to join the club. Annual dues are $1.

First aid class to be offered in Staples

STAPLES -- Lakewood Health System, Staples, will offer a four-hour American Safety & Health Institute First Aid Class from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29.

The purpose of the first aid course is to train citizens to help people in emergencies. This course teaches the standard first aid skills a person needs to act as the first link in the emergency medical system.

Cost is $30. Call the education department at (218) 894-0332 to register. The participant must have a current CPR card before receiving a first aid card of completion.
