So Pawlenty will remain governor until who knows when. I thought he left the job some time ago. Does remaining governor mean he has to come back to the state?

Thank you, Marty Johnson, for your wonderful service on the Brainerd Park Board. More volunteers like you are needed. You're looking out for what is best for Brainerd citizens and what is best for the parks department. It's pretty clear management is desperately needed in the parks department. We appreciate the Park Board's insistence on hiring someone who is qualified to be park director and has the skills to manage that department. Just know that many people support you and appreciate all the time you spend as a volunteer to do what is truly the right thing for the community.

Embarrassing

You know what gets me? When I look to the left , the right or behind my home in downtown Pine River and I see trash, old tires, old exercise equipment, etc. Come on, city officials, you want this town to grow, tourists to visit and recognition, then enforce a few simple rules; make people clean up their yards, it's embarrassing!

Can someone donate a flag?

Behind Walgreen's, a man proudly displays the American flag. It's very tattered. Would it be possible for someone to donate a new flag? It would be graciously accepted as I have stopped by with some things and he was very thankful. Some individual or organization, please think about this proud American and give him a new flag.

Get a life

I would just like to say to the person who wrote about the qualifications with group home people voting, does that mean they qualify for jury duty? I'd just like to say you're one pathetic person. Yes, they do qualify for jury duty and when their name is called upon, they are excused because of their disability. Get a life.

Election judges

I cannot believe we pay election judges $7-$11 per hour to sit there and tell you what table you need to go to if you're registered, and give you a voting sticker and have a little buffet that they have going on all the time. Election judge should be a voluntary basis. And if we do pay them it shouldn't be that much money. Maybe get some people who really need a job and not some retired attorneys.
