The Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport announced it has started its year-long terminal remodeling project.
The project is expected to be completed by Oct. 25, 2011.
Airport officials reported businesses on the west end of the main terminal are moving to the east portion of the building. Delta Airlines will be operating temporarily from Gate 2, which is accessible from the doors on the east side of the main double door entrance.
The car rental businesses will move temporarily to the east end of the building. Signs will be in place directing visitors to the airport terminal building.
Breitbach Construction is responsible for the project. The construction company recently completed work on the Sam's Club and Walmart in west St. Cloud. Kuepers Construction is the on-site project manager.
The Airport Commission is asking for the public's patience as the project proceeds during the next year. All air services and car rental business will operate as normal during the construction.
Questions may be directed to Steve Sievek, airport manager, at 825-2166. The construction project will be documented online at the airport's website at www.brainerdairport.com.
